Affiliate disclosure
Affiliate content will be clearly disclosed where required. Some links on DealScroll are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking them. This never changes the price you pay.
This is the badge we use. It appears as #ad on any deal that carries an affiliate link.
Where the disclosure appears
- A prominent #ad badge beside the deal title in the shopping feed.
- The same badge on the full deal page, next to the title and the shop button.
- A plain-English line under the call to action: “Contains an affiliate link — we may earn a commission.”
- An
#adtag stored with the deal itself.
How it is applied today
Disclosure is not left to memory. Our automated ingestion paths apply the #ad tag automatically, and any link matching a known affiliate network or tracking parameter is tagged whichever route it arrives by — including deals personalised or imported by hand, where the posting form detects the pattern and locks the affiliate setting to “yes”. A source classified as an affiliate feed always receives the tag, even where the destination link looks like a plain retailer URL.
Planned before public launch: network-level enforcement across every affiliate connector we add, so that a link from an approved network is tagged from the network relationship itself rather than from link detection.
What this means for shoppers
DealScroll is designed so that commission does not influence whether a deal is published or how it is ranked. Offers are reviewed on merit — genuine saving, accurate pricing and a working destination link. You always pay the retailer’s normal price.
Advertising standards
We follow UK guidance on clearly identifying paid and affiliate content, including the CAP Code and ASA guidance on recognisable advertising. If you believe a deal is missing a disclosure, email hello@dealscroll.co.uk and we will correct it.
